We’ve all heard about how men struggle with porn. Books, sermons, seminars, help groups of all kinds address this real-life struggle/addiction/problem in our society. It is real, we need to be aware and we need to pray against this sin and for those enticed by it.
However, it’s not just the guys. Women are equally vulnerable to this temptation. We often soft-pedal women’s involvement here. It’s just a romance novel. It’s a beautiful movie. It’s a way to vicariously experience what I’m not experiencing (for whatever reason) in my own life. Take a moment to consider. What are you watching, reading, listening to, thinking about, which is pulling you out of God’s best for you? Be honest. Reflect on Ephesians 2. Talk to God. Confess. Seek his forgiveness. Ask him to help you stay where he calls you – in your heart, mind, soul and body.
