Many of our most intense moments with God happen at camp. Even if that camp is coated in snow and may involve skis. Pray as Entrust’s Dustin and Miriam Combs spend time with young Slovaks through Saturday at winter camp in northern Slovakia. Cold hands, warm hearts!

Summer English camp in the Czech Republic this year was the largest to date for Entrust’s Jerry and Marilyn Farnik, with about 180 of all ages in attendance. During English lessons, campers read and discussed Bible passages. One man had previously thought of the Bible as a fairy tale, but now said he realized it is a book of facts and history. Several people planned to continue reading the Bible after camp, and some indicated interest in attending a Bible study at the Farniks’ church in Prague. Pray for Jerry and Marilyn and for more Czechs to see the truth of the Bible.
Europeans love their gelato. In cups, cones, spoons or bowls, indoors or outdoors, walking or sitting, in spring, summer or fall (not so much in winter – it’s considered unhealthy to eat cold things during cold weather), men, women, children and pets enjoy gelato. Entrust got its start in central Europe. A lot of gelato has been consumed over the course of some 40 years of church ministry training. One of those sweet blessings God provides when we follow where he leads!
One of Entrust’s earliest target countries, Bulgaria is now an established ministry training and sending nation. It started as a covert operation in the late 1970s with a handful of young Christians, hungry to learn and grow in the ways of God, living under a regime denying the very existence of God, let alone allowing Christians access to literature or teaching.
That first handful, 16 to be exact, studied smuggled course materials and met periodically with Entrust traveling teams for 3- to 5-day seminars to discuss, deepen their understanding and pray. They applied their learning in their local churches and passed it along to another group of faithful men. Those men in turn trained others.
